The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office has provided contracted
police services to the City of Dublin since 1982.
Commander Thuman serves as the Chief of Police and, within
the Sheriff’s Office, reports to Assistant Sheriff Stephen
J. Roderick, the Assistant Sheriff in charge of Law
Enforcement Services. Within the City of Dublin
Commander Thuman reports to the City Manager to ensure that
Dublin Police Services remains committed to the priorities
established by the Mayor and City Council in meeting the
needs of its citizens.
Police services provided by Sheriff’s personnel include
uniformed police officers in marked police vehicles,
criminal investigations, crime prevention, Drug Prevention
Education Programs, and special investigation officers
responsible for narcotic and vice suppression activities.
Dublin Police also enforce city ordinances and state laws
within the limits of the City of Dublin. Dublin Police
personnel are committed to protect and serve the Dublin
community through fair and consistent application of the
