The Warrants section is charged to ensure the quality of information contained in various Federal, State and local law enforcement databases. Much of their work involves the entry and quality control of information in systems that are designed to track arrest warrants, missing persons, stolen property and vehicles, and domestic violence restraining orders, to name a few. The Warrants section operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Ordering Police/Incident Reports

The Records section is responsible for processing, tracking, storage of over 30,000 incident reports, citations and other official documents each year. The records section is responsible for the release of incident reports to specific individuals, agencies and businesses. As such they must exercise extreme care to ensure that records are processed in conformance with all laws and regulations that are in place to protect the rights of the public yet comply with the Freedom of Information Act.  For more information on obtaining a copy of a police or incident report, the Records section is open Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm for most services.

The Crime Analysis section is responsible for collecting information on reported crimes and criminals to prevent and suppress crime and to apprehend criminal offenders. One of the most effective ways this is done is for the Crime Analyst to closely review all crime and incident reports looking for patterns, similarities, oddities, or any other qualities of criminal activity, which may be linked to other crimes. This is done through a variety of different processes including the use of different databases. In addition to providing tools to solve crime, the Crime Analysis section is also used to support management and operations by providing valuable statistical data for internal purposes as well as statistical reporting on crime to the Federal and State.
